This summer has been a rough one for many golf courses in the United States (pun intended). Pervasive heat and prolonged dry spells are wreaking havoc with courses across the country. According to the US Drought Monitor, nearly 80% of the continental US<\/a> currently faces drier-than-normal conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During these dog days of summer, Superintendents often encounter the development of Localized Dry Spots (LDS). LDS occurs when sporadic brown patches (like those pictured below) appear in the midst of otherwise healthy-looking turf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how much irrigation water is applied, these patches often remain visible because the soil beneath has become completely water repellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most effective tools in battling this issue is the use of soil surfactants. Our Aqueduct Soil Surfactant<\/a> is specially designed to provide rapid recovery<\/strong> for existing conditions like LDS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
